Solo Hi-Flows vs LT's - sound difference?
Ok so I installed the Solo Hi-Flows and they sound good with my Magnaflow 16483. I plan on camming the car in the future and will be swapping to LT's before I do that (the Solo's I got a deal on from another member so I figured it would hold me over until I'm ready for the cam).
My neighbor has Kooks LT and a Corsa and his is a LOT louder than mine. Now I could chalk that up to the Magnaflow mufflers vs the Corsa mufflers (I actually like my deeper rumble than his supercar sound). I'm just wondering if there is much of a difference between LT's and Solo Hi-Flow cats as far as sound. I know there will be a power difference but for now I'm just concerned about sound. I like my deeper rumble, I just want louder :p

From what I've heard on a couple cars, the LT will be a fair amount louder, and not quite as deep sounding.
On a side note, let me know when you're ready to sell your solo high flows, I'm looking for a pair.

I think it is part the Magnaflow mufflers. I had longtubes on my C6 Corvette with Corsa and that was way too loud. I now have the SOLO high flows with a Magnaflow resonated X and that one muffler controls sound pretty well - I can imagine the two mufflers contributing significantly to calming down the sound of your setup.

I had JBA high flow cats and now LT's with no cats and I think LT's are quieter at idle and normal driving but LT's scream louder at WOT. This is with stock Cat back.

Haha, I noticed you wince when I revved it in the garage. And that was only 2500 or so. The corsa is pretty unforgiving.
As a side note, it seems to rev faster with the JRE tune. I hit it in neutral under an overpass on my way to work today and bumped the rev limiter before I could react. It was a nice surprise.

I think the LTs will have a cleaner sound. Manifolds always sound drone-y to me. I almost would liken it to: manifolds are like speaking with your hand over your mouth, while LTs remove your hand.
LTs just sound so much better.

does your friend have cats at all? If not, that may also explain some of the volume difference... cats kind of act like mufflers

Yep, high flow cats. Thinking about trading them out for straight pipe, though.
