I had the same thing happen to one of mine! The button still works if you put something small enough in the hold to push it. I will just use my second one until it breaks then go and buy a new one. Hey it lasted 4 years I can live with that.

Taking car in on friday for oil change. I will inquire about key fob then, but I highly doubt they will do anything for me. They are a good dealership but its just my luck. It is funny that both of my key fobs did this at same time. I'm talking one went bad as far as all the buttons breaking off and within a week of using the other one the same thing happened. I need to look into getting that silicone shell for my fobs

At the dealership now getting oil change. Key fob will cost $97 with it laser cut. I hopefully will be able to program it myself from looking at posts above.
I do have 1 question I want to get a silicone case to protect the key fob I see the 1 above is for a 4 button I have a 5 button key fob. Do you think the 4 button will be okay I just have to know where the buttons are underneath. Does anyone have a link to a 5 button key fob cover I have been unable to find 1. I do want to thank everyone for their advice and replies Craig |

A new key fob should not cost you more than $ 50 at the dealership. The "learn" mode is simple, at least on the 2012: Insert your working key fob in the ignition and start the car. Let if run for a little while, turn off the car. Insert new key fob and start Camaro... car roars to life...you're done with the "learn" mode...now go hit the road.
oh...I have sent the key fob twice now through the wash. Still works. |

I paid $97 with tax for a pre cut key. I got this from the Chevy Dealership through their computer system. Maybe where you are you can get a pre cut key for $50 but I can't here in Hawaii. Just one more price I pay for living in Hawaii I guess.
