186.... wow

no wonder they are >$500
Go look at your tires. The Z is the generic over 149 rating and the Y means they are good to 186....

ummm, guys the tires aren't the only thing stopping you from going faster. This car isn't really built for high speeds. At those speeds, dont expect car structure to last too long. Suspension or not.
and I really hope you all are doing these top speed tests on a track. This site does not condone street racing, or public endangerment.
Empty road or not. These kinds of "tests" need to be done in a controlled environment with paramedics and rescue crews present.

Those 3 other people let you take them that fast?
Here's the max speed (redline shift) in each gear. Due to drag, a stock Camaro can't obtain these speeds (beyond 170mph or so), but it gives you an idea of how fast you could possibly go in each gear.
Based on this chart, you should be able to do 155mph or so in 4th gear.

Maximum speeds the auto (manual) SS
1- 37(52)
2- 64(81)
3- 99(111)
4- 132(159)
5- 180(189)
6- 227(280)

but thats gear limited top speed... so smaller rear gears, higher rev limiter, notable taller/shorter tire, or a completely different trans would be the only things that would change gear limited

Rev limiter changed...Not that it helps performance any with this cam. It just allows me to hang in third for testing.

Are you tuned, if so what are your shift points? What density altitude are you running at?
Sorry, should have mentioned I am an M6 guy

Man I can't wait for some rear end gears. . . It will wake the car up big time. . No need for a 6th gear that large.. I'll never need, want, or can go 200

that 6th gear is never going to work for any kind of spirited driving, no matter how steep you go. same case for the t56... :(

Too much overdrive in 6th to actually use for performance. It is strictly for fuel economy...
