Help painting rims
Hey I was wondering if anybody id say like within 50-60 miles of Woodland Hills has painted there rims themselves and wouldn't mind helping me paint mine, I really want to do it but cost to much and am way to scared to do it my self.
We wouldn't have to do them all in 1 day maybe like 2 in 1 day then Ill come back later and do the other 2. Ill be glad to pay a little or bring some food and drinks and Id love to help out to and get some advice and stuff Thank you and hopefully one very friendly person will take this offer

Take a 3M Scotch-Brite pad and scuff them up then shoot several light coats and build up 3 or 4 and you'll be good. Whatever you do, use quality paint like PPG or SEM.

You can powdercoat them after dismounting them, its cheap enough...

I painted mine... it wasn't very hard, just time consuming. I figured out a secret to masking if you're planning on leaving the tires mounted.
IBM is right, don't skimp on the paint. I'm in Burbank and have two teenagers in sports, so I may not be able to get that much free time, but I can coach you through it!

A guy here in Bakersfield said I should paint mine and mentioned to me if I was going to do it myself that if you go buy a pack of notecards/index cards that you can stick them between the tire and wheel so you don't have to dismount the tire. He said time consuming yes but that it works so that you don't have to dismount then remount the tires.
Figure this may help you on your endeavor. I'd paint mine myself except I don't have a flippin gun to paint with!!

Ha! That's exactly what I did. I tried masking the first one and what a pain in the a$$ that was, so I stole some index cards from my kids...

Ha that's awesome! Apparently it has been tested and proved so I will definitely pursue it this way if I decide to tackle it myself!

Plasti dip is pretty much a thin layer of sprayed on plastic. you can find it at home depot or lowes for about 7 dollars a can, just clean the wheels with soap an water and then spray right on, doesnt damage the finish on the wheels what so ever.
