Canadian cost vs American cost

With our Canadian dollar at almost par now there really is 0 reason to touch the camaro's on the Canadian dealers lot now. Go to car.com u can pick up a sweet 1ss for 30k or a 2ss for 33k easily now. Thats close to a 10k savings for a little bit of extra work. I went to a dealers lot and was checking out there price's atm its disgusting imo what they are charging Canadians and the car is built right here. My advice for any of you people about to buy seriously look into this option i think you will be surprised how much saving there is now with no Canadian pricing advantage going on with this model.

Yes but you lose the warranty if you do that. The best advice is to buy one that is 6 months old and has 10K on the odo. Then GM will honor the remainder of the warranty.

FYI - I did speak with those at GM of Canada who were responsible for setting the camaro price here. It has nothing to do with what it sells for down in the states and everything to do with how much the market is willing to bare.

I looked into it and you're paying the tax down there (not refundable anymore) then the 200 and some odd dollar fee along with one tax at customs, then the other tax upon registry. I even heard that when importing, for every 10k there's a 500 dollar charge at customs. Whether or not it's true I don't know. If we could get the warranty, great. But I don't wanna have to get a used camaro. Just my preference.

With the type of saving available......pays for a LOT of warranty work.

Listen man.... you are a big boy now who will soon have big responsibilities ensuring the people of Scarborough are safe (mainly during Carabana). It's time you learn that you have to make tiome for yourself on days that are perfect for cruising. 25 degrees, no humidity, no bugs......

Family stuff is going to be going on all weekend. Get your bloody ass out with us!!!

More on topic, there are companies here in Canada that will do the purchase for you. They do charge a fee but take care of all the headaches. If the savings to be had by doing so is significant enough then it is worth it. I was considering that route when I was looking at a Z06, the difference was almost 40K.

Do you have the names of some of those companies? I may not be using the proper google-fu but I'm not finding much...

Thanks!
