I think they should keep the inside of the wheel from the SS, and the outside from the new wheel. Problem solved, and in the middle put ZL1.

I find it interesting how were having an issue with the steering wheel they chose to put in the ZL-1 because it looks too much like a cruze or sonic...yet..the Z06 vette has the same steering wheel as a malibu.

I am probably in the minority but I like the new wheel design but would prefer to have the Camaro instead of the Bowtie in the center.

Why do we own Camaros? we want to stand out from the crowd. these cars are freaking awesome. We are proud of our camaros, yes? then why not show the name on any surface it looks good on? Spell out CAMARO on the wheel, or ZL1, or even CAMARO ZL1. but something more than just the bowtie. i love the bowtie, but i would want something more on a $50k car. hell, i bought my 3rd gen for $550, and its got its name on the steering wheel!!

The microsuede rim is as "sure grip" as you're going to get short of sticking velcro to your palms...

And I believe the flat-bottomed style was borrowed from F-1 racing, where clearance was a serious issue for drivers. The small diameter will improve feel and responsiveness if/when racing, and the flat-bottom will simply help make some more room to get in/out while being a pretty unique look in a production car.

Looking at it again, I agree that they need to make this wheel more "ZL1" specific by either spelling camaro on it or a ZL1 logo. Oh, an wrap the center section in leather!!

Very good explanation.

My car has the flat bottom. I like the look of it a lot.

Although my car doesn't have the alcantera on the wheel, some models do come with it, and I think it looks great. I hear it does provide excellent grip.

i think the wheel we have now would fit that interior. the wheel was unique with our new camaros and i feel like the new models should keep the same general look. so i vote our wheel over one from a volt or any other car that wheel is from and certainly keep the camaro logo on it =)

I think the only problem with the bowtie is that the size and color overwhelms the steering wheel. If the bowtie was simply a thin, chrome outline, it would look a TON better on the steering wheel.

wrong steering wheel

I prefer the much-maligned wheel that is in the current car. I am not sure putting the Camaro script on the wheel would fix my concerns about it, but it would be a start.
The current steering wheel is not bad. Why can't just fix the current one instead of using one from a Cruze. All they need to do is modify the horizonal bars that hold the wheel side to side. Either shift them down or make them thinner. That should correct the 9 and 3 hand position. The simpler solution is use the original concept Camaro steering wheel in the first place.

Either way, not a big fan of the bowtie. Makes it look like the wheel from a Malibu or something.

For the record, I love the actual wheel itself though. Looks more ergonomically friendly by a million percent.
I agree, I think a Bigger ZL1 badge would be alot better. That is what my vote would be.
