Finally Purchased 2011 Camaro - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hello all. I have been lurking around here learning as much as possible since last year. Coming from owning a C6 Corvette and a Cadillac CTS-V i wanted to make sure the Camaro was right for me. I spent about 3 1/2 hours at the dealer yesterday with my wife, two year old son and 5 month old son. Needless to say it was a very long day. I thought I was going to be in and out since i had already gone in on another day and talked numbers on a black 2011 SS with the RS package, Hurst shifter, and sunroof. I had created a thread in the pricing section and everyone said i was getting a decent price.

Well we walk in and they have a 2010 Inferno Orange with Cyber Gray stripes 2SS in the showroom and my wife says "How about that one honey!" I did admit to her that it was very sharp. It is a left over 2010 with black leather which looked great with the orange exterior and only had 59 miles on it. There was a tag in the window with a sale price of 33912 PLUS $1500 in GM accessories if you buy the car. The car was an automatic.

So now she wants me to talk numbers with them on the 2010 in the showroom. After about an hour of haggling they say they will go as low as 32612 plus taxes on the one in the showroom and i will get the $1500 in GM accessories. I start thinking wow that is really hard to pass up.

Well we left the dealer to go grab some dinner and said we would be back. My wife and i talked over dinner and let me tell you it was a very hard decision. In the end we returned to the dealer which by the way i was dealing directly with the new car sales manager who was phenominal. And the decsision was..................

I ended up buying the original car(2011) I had gone to purchase. Let me say the price on the 2010 was very hard to pass up but i know in my heart i prefer a manual trans. Both the C6 and CTS-V were both manual so i had to keep true to the manual. I will pick up the car this friday.

Well thats my Camaro story.............so far. Modifications to come

That would be a difficult decision ,but I think you made the right one. $1500 off for a 2010 model does not seem like enough to me given it is a prior year model.

the one i bought. here she is at the dealer. let them hold on to it till friday. had some surface scratches on the trunk so they said they would take care of it.
