Ahh, what a way to end a day. Its reading stuff like that which allows those of us who are obsessed (look at my post count . . .) with the Camaro to sleep better at night and have happy thoughts about the Camaro. Thank you for once again reassuring us and helping us to 'Keep the Faith'

First off, it already sounds like you have the cash to put down for a healthy GT500 killer. You and I both know that's going to be one HELL of an engine....which means we aren't talking about a minor .2 liters of displacement. It will probably mean a supercharger or something larger. And...if not? You could either buy the top of the line Camaro built by aftermarket companies/dealers....GMMG, Berger, Tom Henry, etc, etc, etc. If that still doesn't work, there could be a 2.0 Turbo Ecotec which could be ripped out and swapped w/ a fire breathing LS7. We all know you want an engine where room lies for even more potential. We all want to see the biggest and baddest there is too. Heck...I would love to see the story of the 550hp GT500 Killer come true as well! But, we just have to wait and see.....you know? We have to keep the faith and know that GM won't let us down. If, by some slim chance, they don't offer something bigger and badder, the aftermarket will ALWAYS be there. |

AMEN!!!
I believe one of the better things about the 6.2 over the 6.0 is that the bores are bigger (because I believe all 5.7L and up LS engines share the same stroke, except the LS7) and allow the use of larger valves. I believe the 6.2 intake valves measure 2.16 inches whereas the 6.0s are at 2.0. The bigger valve will allow the cylinder to ingest more air and fuel so it'll make more power. The 6.2 is big deal for me because the heads on the LS3 and L92 are friggin' bad @$$ and one can throw a supercharger on there and make BIG power (look at the LS9.) It's no deal breaker, but it would be nice to just run the 6.2 and let the 6.0 go to keep costs down. JMHO.

I wonder if the V6s will have more room for a supercharger or turbo this time. If so its worth consideration, I need a V8 though...I've been slowly upgrading my V6 Firebird while saving for the Camaro. When I'm done with the Firebird it will be my daily driver and Camaro will be for Firday, Saturday, Sunday.

We do know there is a blown mule car out there. But we are speculating that it is the LSA. Not confirmed yet.

Fbodfather, my only worry is that the dealers are going to try and rape us with mark-ups. Is there anything that GM can/will do about this?
