too bad... my dealer is not on the list

If I would have known about this, I would have picked a dealer that was on the list... bummer

Can you get both the $500 Credit Union discount & the $750 USAA discount? If you qualify for both of course.

USAA has usually been great with me expect this latest insurance renewal. Our rates went up 17% for NO reason. Ive been with them for 4 years and have had ZERO claims on anything. Switched and saved $420 every six months.

I looked up our new Malibu and we still got it cheaper than the USAA price by about $1k. If you are negotiating with the dealer I wouldnt mention the USAA until the VERY end so you are sure to get the extra $750 off.

No reason they would not... It's a GM incentive, no money out of dealer pockets.

Mine wasn't on the list either

Don't forget! Be sure to have your USAA membership card, insurance card and/or loan approval documents with you when you visit the dealer to claim your $750 incentive. If you are replacing a totaled vehicle, remember to also have your USAA insurance voucher with you for your additional $250

Limited time purchase price discount offer available from GM through participating GM dealers. Discount not available on Corvette ZR1, Cadillac CTS-V or medium duty trucks. Use of the term "member" does not convey any legal, ownership or eligibility rights.

* Based on new car member sales from May 2007 - October 2008.

Hope this helps clear up any confusion.

I just went to the USAA website myself and copied the below. From everything I read it doesn't say you have to get a loan through USAA. It just says to bring your membership card or insurance card or loan documents to recieve your $750 incentive. Maybe you are correct, but it doesn't say you have to have a loan through USAA.

(USAA EMPLOYEE)

You do NOT have to finance thru USAA for this discount. Just talk to your dealer and have them pull up there current incentives list. Your sales me should be able to do this for you.

Now rather or not the dealer will honor it is another story. Lots of people are paying over MSRP so dont be shocked.

Just a quick note Ive been a USAA member for about 14 years. When I called yesterday about banking information they did their usual we are going to email you the invite a freind link, and the representative said that they have recently opened up their banking to everyone now. But certain member benifits will still be exclusive to military and immediate family, retirees and DOD employees.

Edited my post. Mis-interpreted the "and/or"

And thanks for the OUTSTANDING service you provide each and EVERY day to all of the USAA members. Even on Camaro5 USAA comes through....

I would not worry about it. If they keep the same high standard in underwriting and lending should not hurt the books. Just like everyone else they prob hurting too from the recession.

Back to my original question. Does anyone know if you can get both of these?
