Lose or loose as in not tight....
BTW, I'll post up some updated videos with the mods I'm working on this spring. Should see an 11 second Flex against some very unsuspecting fast cars |

Just being honest.....I think you will lose. Your lack of experience at a track will hurt you.
Regardless, if both of you cut a perfect 60' in your cars, the Taurus will get the better launch (due to AWD and mods). You will spend most of the time catching up and possibly passing him before end of 1/4 mile. Your car has better top end power and will likely beat the Taurus at anything above ~100 MPH.

My money on the Taurus SHO.
SCRMING who posted above has ran into the 12s with his Ecoboost FLEX. So that said, the SHO is capable of mid to high 12s easily.

Without the DR's dont get into this race expecting to win. Unless that track has really done a great prep job your going to have a rough night especially with no experience. On a test and tune night that track could be worse than some streets. When my car had the same mods as you with stock tires traction was a afterthought. I would for sure get some practice before lining up with him. If you must race with street tires avoid the waterbox all together. Do a slight burn out just to clean the tires. On the first run floor it from idle to see how well it hooks up. This will tell you how much throttle you have to give it on the next run and how much you might have to feather it. Really hope you blow his doors off but I wouldnt count on it.

Nice launch, for an AWD. Ford has some sleepers in their fleet, Taurus, Flex, and the new Explorer Sport.
Looks like the videographer turned off the image stabilization at the end.

Are y'all saying a Taurus SHO can beat a Camaro SS?? I don't believe it. It's heavier and has less HP...even the Turbo.

So yes...it can beat it. Even a tuned AWD Ford FLEX can woop an SS.

So what exactly does a tune consist of, and what does it add to the performance? I'm not up on what mods do.

I went from 14.2 to 13.4 with just a tune in the Flex... added the methanol and dropped down to 12.7...
