I have never been able to understand why some people hate Ford.

I like Ford I like Chevy I have no allegiance to one or the other.
I've owned Fords in the past and have had too much trouble out of them, namely SUVs. I've yet to encounter a serious problem with a GM vehicle.(My old '66 pickup still drives better than most of my most recent cars)

It's just my philosophy that if I make the same mistake enough times, try a different approach. (or in this case, approach something else entirely) lol

I don't blame anyone for likeing ford, they just won't be getting my money.

When I saw the 2010 Mustang specs I had mixed emotions; the first of which being sadness that Ford could have epically dropped the ball at such an important time during the revival of the pony wars. The second of those emotions was happiness; happiness that my Mustang is still the better looking and performing one. My CAId 07 GT makes around 330hp and I'm about to add 3.73s, underdrive pulleys, and a new BBK throttle body. I really don't think there's a Mustang owner anywhere on the planet that likes the re-design, me included. Basically, by the time the Camaro comes out, you guys can trust that us real Mustang owners that actually work on and improve our cars will be the only ones that'll give you trouble. Can't wait.

The biggest detriment for the Mustang by FAR is its lack of independent rear suspension.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that...the Mustang essentially is designed to go fast in a straight line, and in a high-powered form, go fast in a 1/4 mile straight line. The only thing IRS will do for a Mustang on a drag strip is weigh it down...we're not talking about BMWs and Nissans here, those are track cars, whereas Mustangs and pretty much all American muscle cars are basically drag strip cars.

Which really does not make that much of a difference unless you are looking to track the car. For every day driving, the differences between a car having a SRA and IRS will hardly be noticed by your common driver. (To which a VAST majority of Mustangs, and to a lesser extent, Camaro's will be sold).

When you get to performance enthusiasts, however, the difference will be noted in the fact that the IRS will provide a better ride and better handling over uneven road surfaces.

Take it for what it's worth from someone who has owned/owns both, the ride/handling between a stock 2006 GTO and a stock GT500 is barely felt, seat-of-the-pants, as a daily driver.

We hear the constant nattering about the Mustang not having an independent rear suspension. Frankly, it's quite simple. It doesn't need it. Most of the people who race Mustangs do it on drag strips where a live axle is the best weapon. Elsewhere, Mustang FR500s with live axles have been winning consistently in the Grand Am series for the last several years.

The 2010 Mustang GT is every bit as good as our previous favorite Mustang, the 2008 Bullitt, but with a much improved interior. Now the 2010 model is the best production Mustang ever, and barring any big price increase, will remain the best performance car bargain on the road.
