Sounds like you need the homework. A 16 bar song is nothing. Imagine writing a 3 minute song with hooks and everything (average 3 verses (16 bars each), and 2 chorus parts (8 bars each).

My AP English IV class sucks...our teacher doesn't even teach, she just gives us worksheets/packets to do and then plays solitaire on her laptop all day long.

My English professor from last semester didn't SPEAK English. She "like this a-talka." She couldn't seem to construct proper sentences, and she liked subjectively grading multiple-choice exams.

Another one like me . . .
We had to write an argumentative/persuasive essay on the value of the arts in grade 12. I picked grade 12 english as my specific topic. My point was that it was useless. My teacher told me that when she read it, she had never been so upset in her life and had to stop several times. I received an A on it because there weren't any faults that she could find with the writing.

After that, I went to university for engineering.

I was always really picky about grammar, as you can probably tell with my posts. I found that dealing with these ridiculous assignments force you to write in different ways that make you a better author, which is something that the vast majority of human beings need in order to communicate functionally. Most people have terrible grammar, punctuation, and spelling. In most countries that have a written language—try to find one that lacks this—grammar and language history are usually standard secondary education programs. If you don't like it, then you could always become a hobo.

I meant high school English. You could drop out and be a hobo. To be an engineer, you have to take the classes to graduate. All you need to be a hobo is a box on the street.
