Well that sure does not match up. Who is the person that posts here as Faberge? Is it the Staas guy that is the owner or someone else?

R&D is Research and Development, which kind of suggests the R&D line they are selling me?

And a week for the install? They are telling me 1-3 days max, and that includes my exhaust and gauges.

reason why im going to go with them. They are 6hrs away from me. as opposed to RPM in DE, which is 2hrs away from me. free install will win me over anyday.

Stas posts under fabberge.
I'm not sure if they have a separate machine shop being their "R & D" shop/ "fabberge". But I do know they build it at IPS. If you got to see their shop you'll see they have PLENTY of bays to do work. The place is packed with nice cars.

My understanding from the guy that dropped me off at the hotel, one of the mechanics and not a manager, is that Stas owns both ips and fabberge.

What I dont understand is if the owner posts one thing and a manager says something else, why doesnt someone post again and clarify. I mean the free install thread has several references here, and would seem to say free install if you bring your car in.

Otherwise, post a clarification in the original thread.

Ill comment on the shop later.

They are a confusing bunch. I have Stas' business card somewhere and I'm 95% sure it says owner. Jeff title is owner also. Fabberge was not a name when I had the kit built, but they did take the car to their R&D department. The Fabberge name was probably created for some tax/ reliability/ revenue/ name slandering/ who knows reason.

Not much
Just left the shop and saw the car. Hopefully will be tuning this evening.

I am near the Polaris mall, just across the street, so there is a movie theater and shops and good restaurants.

Is it true that you cannot drain the gas tank on a Gen5 Camaro?

Fricken last station I was at on Sunday only had 91, and Jeff neglected to tell me that it had to have 93 to be able to tune it properly. Screw me. Just drove 14 hours for nothing.

So now they are dumbing down the tune and dyno fricken 10pm on the night before I leave and I will need to retune when I get home.

I told them to drain the tank and refill, but they say a 5th gen cant drain the tank?

Frack me.

Not easily anyway.. are they having a problem tuning? What octane gas do you have in it now?

Man, I'm sorry your having all these troubles.. that does suck.

I'm curious what kind of numbers they can get out of 91 octane.. that's pretty much all I have around here in oklahoma.

Or you could run their canned tune couldn't you? Its tuned to 14psi on 93 octane. Maybe later on if you don't like this tune and you have 93 where you live you could switch to that.

I would say tune it for 91 and call it good... really not going to be huge difference between 91 and 93... also if you go on another road trip you might have issues finding 93 in parts of the country... just food for thought...
