Pretty sure he doesn't know what he's talking about but i know Gm used AC Delco for most everything in our cars maybe the brake system is Brembo but the actual pads are AC Delco thats my only guess.

So far two conflicting theories...

1. they are brembo pads in a GM box

2. they are AC Delco (GM) pads

The Original pads on the Brembo brakes are Brembo pads. However when replacing at the dealer you may end up with AC Delco pads.

It works like this...
Bosch makes brake pads
Bosch sells brake pads to wholsale distributors
Both NAPA and Autozone buy the Bosch brakepads
Bosch brakepads are reboxed into "DURALAST" and "NAPA" boxes
If you go to autozone, you are buying duralast brakes, but they're technically BOSCH. Someone may even tell you that the brand "duralast" is a P.O.S. brand, and sell you NAPA instead, when they are actually the same part... in a different box. Duralast doesn't actually make any parts to my knowledge...

ACDelco is another branded thing that reboxes it's stuff like Napa, O Reillys, Autozone, everybody really. So if I call H & H and call the Chevy dealer and order OE brake pads I will get the same exact thing, probably a little cheaper from H & H and they are both technically Brembo and technically ACDelco, because Brembo says them the right to rebox

TLDR; Everything is reboxed by distributors from the original OE Manufacturer.

I work at a dealer and this is totally correct. Have seen it with my own eyes. Made in Italy and Brembo on the box.

The best thing to do when replacing the Brembo pads is get Hawk Ceramic pads. This way you'll get rid of 90% of the brake dust.

Yup! My company does some manufacturing of pressure vessels and we private label to large companies, so while we are the OEM manufacturer of said pressure vessels, there are dozens of companies that sell them as "their own."

Unless you care about performance, then you will not do that at all. Hawk Ceramic's are absolute garbage in a performance setting.
