New status

Camaro tracking showed a new status this morning of Ship by Truck so I am guessing it got on a truck and should be at the dealer later today unless it has other stops to make. its only a short ride from the station to the dealer.

Don't shoot the messenger- but I doubt it.

All that "ship by truck" signifies is that the rail journey has ended and that the cars have been emptied from the train. It does not signify that the car hauler involved has the car loaded on a truck for delivery. :(

Doesn't mean it's not on a hauler either...

I literally watched mine get loaded onto truck at the RailYard... for a short 15 mile drive to the dealership.

...and it showed up as "ship by truck"

My hope is that it made it onto a truck since it was awaiting a truck for 9 days in the train yard and that status has changed. One can only hope.

I think there may be some confusion. My current status (well, as of 7/9, not sure why it is taking 2-3 days to get updated every time) says "available to ship from rail yard", but beneath that it says "ship via truck". If your actual status says "ship by truck" then maybe your hope is going to work out for you.

Hell, I hope mine has already been loaded and the dealer calls me this afternoon, it's been about 5 miles from my office since last Tuesday.

NORMALLY they have about three daus after this to get it to you depending on how far you are away from the rail yard, sometimes sooner but give it 5 days and you should be good.

You are correct in that normally people can expect their cars in 3-4 days after they are unloaded from the train. That said, there is no "rule" that the car carrier company has to have a car delivered within "x" days...

Alot depends on how many stops they have, number of hours the driver has driven and the location of the dealership. These guys are pretty good at getting them there.

I have to laugh because I felt exactly the same way when mine was sitting at the rail yard. Hylton told me the same thing about the 3 or 4 days and we were worried about it getting stuck for the 4th of July in 09, but they came through I got mine on July 1,2009. Cool thing was my family was up for the 4th.

Hopefully soon my friend, enjoy it, this feeling only happens 1 time.

Well, I'm 5 minutes from the stinking rail yard and unless it's on a truck right now, it's been unloaded since Friday.

I just can't believe that a vehicle can sit in a rail yard for 10 days and not move in a major metropolitan region. Two rail yards support the DC area. If every car spends 10 days in the yard not moving. That's a lot of inventory costs. No wonder the business is suffering.
