PS3 vs. XBOX360

Christmas and my birthday(December 28, WHOOOO!!) are coming up and I am looking into the new game consoles. I ruled out Wii because of the graphics and games are too kiddy. I play 360 all the time at my friends houses and I like it a lot. I was wondering if other people have debated over PS3 and 360 or if anyone has PS3 and could tell me how they like it.
Now since PS3 is down to $400 and online play is free, it is a lot more competitive since xbox360 is $350 not including online play which is $50 a year.

I would suggest getting a 360. Online play may be free on the PS3, but what's the point if nobody uses it? PS3 is great as a second console, but XBox 360 is the best all-around console in this generation.

360 has a better online gaming as they've been doing it for longer. I'll take xbox live over PS3's online service anyday. 360 has better games out now, but eventually Sony will come out with their good games and the potential of the PS3 is better. If you like Sony exclusive games (Final Fantasy Series, GTA, MGS, etc.) There will more than likely be some more PS exclusive titles and the games will be better on PS3 in a few years. Until that point I would highly recommend the 360 over the PS3.

I've been a PSx person since the original one was 299 and I bought one 2 days before opening night since I worked for EA. I chose a 360 over the PS3 when I bought a console Oct 1. (Day after my b-day).

PC.. consoles to me where always over rated, expensive and out dated to fast.. my last console was the original sega system.

Sides I don't fps much and thats where 90% of games are going to..

If I HAD to chose a system it would be wii.. just for interaction and the zelda series..

You'tr obviously not a gamer then. Can you imagine trying to beat a boss after playing 6 hours of storyline when you can't lift your arms from all the swinging of the controller to kill the baddies?

i have played the Wii, it is a VERY nice console for the money and it plays ALL the old Gamecube games and you can download a LOT of the old games from the NES to the N64 and even Sega Genesis games :eek: . I do not have a 360 or a PS3 but if I had a choice I would get a PS3, it has a lot more bang for the buck to me, and the fact that it has a Blu Ray player built in helps a little . I just got a HD DVD player so I am holding off on a 360 for now.

I've played all 3. My friend has a PS# and I'm VERY unimpressed with the game selection. Wii is fun but it's following in the path of the N64 and Gamecube as it's target market is families with kids for their games. Yes they have had a few franchises for adults (Resident evil, Star Wars, etc.) but for the most part you have games like (paper mario, Super monkey ball, etc.)

I do defend Wii though and have to say Wii sports is tons of fun and I'm sure SSMB will be fantastic but you need people to play it. It's not very fun single player. I will be spending a ton of time at my friend's house playing the new boxing game of which I forget the name (Based on Hajime no Ippo anime).

Halo 3, Assassin's Creed, NFS:PS, Mass Effect, probably the next PGR/forza and Borderlands are the games that I would like to play, and online play is just that much better on xbox.

My PS3 is limited to Blue Ray only duties......................

Im going to have to say PS3 just because I think it has more potential and I am a GTA fanatic. I will probably end up getting one in the future when the price drops AGAIN and I will be playing GTA IV all day.

If i were to buy one I would go for PS3, in part due to the blu ray player and the free online gamming. Also, the games are no where near their potential for the system yet. BUT why buy either one when you have a computer all to yourself that can play any of the new generation of games?
