OK - I have a challenge: Who can tell me what the average dealer made on a new Car in 2010? ...and in 2009? (...........and I do have the answer and I think you're going to be shocked...)

In 2009, U.S. auto dealers grossed an average $1,183 on on each new car sold, not sure about 2010 though.

Yea they do just look at the lines around the numbers. I was just wondering if this was actually on the sticker or something.

Where on the vehicle is this number?
Certainly it is not on new cars, just used? |

I havent seen it on a sticker, but I avoid car dealerships. Bought my Camaro over the internet, went in signed the papers, and drove off.

I'm guessing the average Dealer made at least 3% per vehicle (dealer hold back), and then whatever they managed to get above their cost.

Are we talking all models? If so, I'm going to take a shot at $1800 for 2009 and $2200 for 2010 |
