If you use a carwash, don't use one with a blow dryer at the end, or at least pull out before the dryer starts. I used one on a convertible Mazda, and the wind blew at such force that the seams in the roof began to come undone.

Hand wash only. The harsh chemicals and the wax and soaps they put in the automatic wash isn't good for your top I have always thought

I only hand wash mine and only water on the top (no soap). I'd rather drive mine filthy than take the chance of going through a car wash with her.

The handful of times I've taken mine through a car wash is during the winter months - and I know what scandata means about the blowers! You can see it pushing down on the fabric so I opt to skip that part anytime I can.

I took mine through a touchless car wash and it made my top look better. It was mainly to do the undercarriage and it was pretty nasty otherwise but I would do it again. I wouldnt do a standard drive thru car wash but the touchless was cool.

I go thru touchless once a week for 2 years, no problems. If I had a Corvette, it might be a different story

I use the car wash with neoprene brushes weekly. No ill effects. That said, if I feel the blowers are too harsh I drive past them pretty quick.

I treated my Camaro to a deep clean with Convertible Wash, soft brush, plenty of water to rinse & blot dry with microfiber. After a full day of complete dry I treated the top with UV/repellent, 4 passes, 1st spray heavy, wait overnite, then 3 light passes, with an hour between. Once done, removed masking & Voila! Brand new look (masking goes on to protect trim & paint, that was roughest part). In between just hose spray before rest of car wash. Here's a couple of shots of top completed before masking removed. The top treatment can be done every 2 to 3 yrs and that's a lot better than shelling out big bucks for a replace top.

I run through the local light touch car wash too...no ill effects (2012 with 65K). If you just want undercarriage wash park on top of your sprinkler heads and turn the system on.

I use all types of car washes. Driving on the highway has done more damage from rock chips.

This I think is what you're looking for. To wash your cars undercarriage. http://www.theunderwasher.com/

Car Wash?

Hand wash only with a foam bath. I saw this at Lowes the other day was thinking of getting one for the gutters.

I use Chemical Guys: Protectant & Repellent, 16 ozs

After I cleaned with their top cleaner and let dry overnite I used 5/6 of the UV/Repellent bottle with 4 passes, 1st heavy, dry overnite. Next day, 3 light passes, 30 mins between.
