hb rocks, theres so much i can say but ill refrain.
SSmoked, i take off at about 1500 rpm, and ive been shifting at 2800 rpm. I reseted it, still got 16. Then i started shifting at 4000 rpm and it was 16.3L/100km. Im waiting til i break it in before i start going past 4500 rpm. Thought it was a break in issue, but its not since its been going up while doing the same driving.
Power seems adaquet. Ive had 3 people drive it and it feels as powerful as my brother 05 4.0 stang. But we said we wait til break in and then run it past 4000 rpm before we make final judgements.
I know scott and other people have rare cases where their cars are performing slower and fuel economy being pretty bad as well.
if im getting 16.3 shifting twice at 4000 rpm, imagine what ill be getting when i start reach 6800rpm. I was watching the automatic v6s shifting at redline. Now id love to do that but that would probably take me into the 17-18s. Thats just too much. And its not the money, its the fact that i think this car is supposed to be getting better and im concerned if theres an issue with my car.
V6 has a 70L tank like the SS.
Im just trying to find out if others too believe that their might be something wrong.
However, on a positive note, i was cruising on the highway in 6th gear at 125km and was getting 10 L/ 100KM which im happy with. Just the city driving is getting out of hand

i filled her upagain today and reseted it for my 4th time, im starting to think that she has a problem. My car is a little gas guzzler but i still love her.
Karnage, your getting 16.7 (14.1 L/100km)? Is that oure city? And how high are you reving it? and one last question, how many miles do you have on it. Sorry for all the questions, its just that your numbers were the numbers i was expecting and mine just seems reallly bad

I was joking you know........

I will tell you from experience.....bad fuel economy has many factors...
-City driving
-cold weather/and also not having a warm engine.
-higher elevation
-short trips
-improperly inflated tires (pump some more air in yours)
-hilly terrain

practice these suggestions for 1 week.......
simple things to do when driving to improve economy are:
-No showboat holeshots off the lights. (obvious)
-avoid short trips. (anything under 10 miles)
-warm the engine first.
-look forward, if there is a red light ahead or you know you're not going to make a green....lay off the pedal and coast to the stop....this also helps save on brakes!
-USE CRUISE CONTROL ALL YOU CAN. CC can really help fuel economy even in City driving.
-keep her under 60 can save mucho petrol.

keep us posted!

I get about 28 on the highway with the cruise set at 65, around town 19-21. No hot dogging just regular driving. Try taking a manual reading, fill the car up and see how many KM you can go. Computer might be giving false readings

Why have a sports car if you ain't gonna use it properly?? Get a Prius if you're going to be worried about gas mileage .. Sorry, someone has to be the spokesperson for mashing the gas pedal whenever you get the chance in a safe manner..

Every car is different and mpg's are an average. If it runs good, I'd wait for beak-in to be over and romp it. You may have a close tolerance built motor and additional HP but the only way to get those high mpg's is top gear at 1800-2000 rpm.

Superman.....Welcome to the TJ91's thread about bad gas mileage on his V6.
Those are great suggestions...
If you just read the OP but not any of the responses it sort of throws the thread off-kilter.

Not sure what movie it's from but....I think Samuel Jackson said it best when he said...

Hi, I'm getting between 12 -13 LT/100 City and highway 9-9.6 LT/100 (cruising at 130 KMH) I got about 5300 Kilometers now on my car.

Today I just checked mine and its at 17L/100km WTF..I now have 5900KM on the car. I just thought of something..I was using Premium Gas from Day 1 and I changed to Regular on my last 2 fill ups.!!! Could that be the reason??? I think I will go back to Super and see if that is really the reason. Who knows!!!!

I'm getting 18.9 in my 2SS manual. It's about 1/4 highway, 3/4 city.

I know we SS cars cannot run anything less than premium. Can you run regular in yours?

SS's can run regular but premium is suggested. LS/LTs SHOULD be running regular.
