14.7 MPG for my v6? Help Please

I posted this in the v6 section but im posting this here now because i am getting more concerned. My 2LT/RS now has 700 km. I have driven her very easy, taken it once in a while to 4000rpm. Now 98% of the time i shift between 2000 and 3000 rpm. 99% of my km is purely city and my car for the first 500 km averaged 14.5L/100km (16.2 MPG) now shes getting 16L/100km 14.7 MPG and i am driving her slow, rarely shifting over 3000 rpm. Is it possible that theres something wrong with my car?
Any help would be really appreciated

Take that in to the dealer. Have them check it out. But also, how are you driving it? Are you romping on it all the time? Is it a lot of stop and go?

I've only got about 400 miles, but the computer says my average MPG is 21.7

its the manual v6 and i shift between 2000 to 3000 rpm. i have occasionally taken it to 4000 rpm. Car is sztill breaking in but fuel economy is getting worse. All city driving. Stop and go is moderate.

I believe the city rating for m6 v6 is 17mpg so not off by a lot but it would seem strange the economy is getting worse and not better.

I would say that is about normal for city driving if you are pushing it..

It's a 300 HP sports car. It's gonna use a little gas unless you drive it like your on the way to the retirement home. No offense.

The only time you will see high 20's is on the highway with cruise control.

yo TJ, open the car up a bit more. i know my mazda runs alot better once its seen 6500rpm. 14.7 mpg is pathetic. 2 thing u can do. 1 reset ur ecu by diconnecting the negative battery terminal for 5min and than re-connecting. and 2 take it to the dealer and see what the situation is if there is any.
also how high are u reving when starting from a stop? try not useing the gas at all and just let the idle carry ur car 1 foot befoe u get on the gas. are u useing the recomended gas?
imo the best thing to do is on ur next fill up reset ur trip, and record the number of km u get on the one take and then post here. for the city u should be getting roughtly 300-350kms on a full tank, and roughly 600 on the hwy.

You may be a little off here assuming the v6 has the same size fuel tank as the ls3 i ordered cause estimated highway cruising range is 876.18km (as per window sticker printout)

Thats pretty bad since im driving mine in the same conditions but im not easy on the gas and im getting 16.7 mpg

Maybe take it to the dealer to check it out. Also next time you fill up check it manually and see it its still the same.
