Sunroof Headroom Loss?

I have read some people said there is a slight loss of headroom with a sunroof. Is that true? and if so how much?

Thanks.

Anyone have a pic of the interior headliner that shows the sunroof?

YES it is true, on our LT it has a sunroof, I am 6'1, I have to put the seat all the way down so my hair doesn't rub the liner, I'm also in the navy and have short hair. In the SS w/o sunroof there is about 2-3 inches more than the LT. Both are fine you just have to adjust how you sit a little. I actually wish my SS had a sunroof in it as well.

Absolutely true. I am not sure about the 2-3 inches (i did not measure), but it is noticable. It is especially noticable since the sunroof edge is directly over the drivers head, so you feel like leaning toward the center of the car (as there is more headroom directly under the sunroof than around the sunroof frame).

I am 6'-6", and I did not fit with sunroof.

I'm 6', have a sunroof and have no problem with headroom. Keep in mind I sit reclined slightly. Can't stand sitting upright, very uncomfortable.

I am 6' and have an SS and the sunroof is no problem. I have had T-Tops all my life and hesitated to get the sunroof. It is the best $900 I ever spent.

I'm 6'2" and got the sunroof. Definitely glad I did but I'm like the others in that my thinning hair hits the roof, so you need to adjust the tilt, etc to get it right. Also hit a few bumps going high speed which did cause my lid to hit the roof a few times.

Ditto! I've had 2 Camaros with T-Tops, 2 cars with sunroofs. It's all on how you adjust your seat. I actually had to raise my seat a bit and still don't have any issues with the sunroof and I'm 6'1".

Headroom clearance is my main complaint. I am 6' but must have a long torso for my height because I hit my head big time. I have the seat all the way down and reclined way back. I sat in a non sunroof car in March, before I ordered. No issues so I though I would go with the sunroof option. I like the looks of the sunroof, but everytime I hit a bump I hit my head. Knowing then what I know now, I would not have gone with the sunroof.

headroom loss is like 2 inches or so. I have plenty of headroom in a hardtop, and I'm almost touching the headliner with my hair (buzzed) in a sunroof.

I will not be getting a sunroof if I get a hardtop for that reason.
