OK, you have to admit this is pretty cool...Challenger V10 for real
1st off...PLEASE don't turn this into the typical crap that comes up whenever the Dodge Challenger is discussed.
This is just cool, and it's basically the equivalent of that Ford factory drag mustang that's about the same price- so it's not really overpriced when you put it up against it's extremely rare competition. Just appreciate it for what it is, pretty cool...... http://blog.chryslerllc.com/blog.do?id=1186&p=entry Identification plate with unique serial number sequence Primed and painted body, color options available 512 cid V-10 engine Unique engine calibration 2-speed automatic transmission with shift assembly and built-in roll control Special body-in-white modified for drag racing No windshield wiper assembly No HVAC system (includes block off plates) No rear seats No power-steering system No underbody heat shields Complete fuel cell assembly Race headers with collectors Modified tunnel for transmission clearance and one-piece drive shaft Raised floor above differential for solid-axle conversion clearance Polycarbonate door windows Smart-glass door window system Solid engine mounts Mopar solid rear axle Lightweight seats to accommodate 6-point harness Special modified K-member with drop-out crossmember Lightweight drag-race only front brake assembly Manual rack-and-pinion steering Front chin spoiler Lightweight cooling module with electric fan Lightweight instrument panel assembly Special cable-operated decklid release Special cable-operated throttle pedal and linkage Race-style wheels and tire And if this turns into an RTs are too heavy and Dodge's suck from the devil's teet argument, then I kindly request the mods shut it down promptly before I vomit.

Man it's nice but I would hate to see what a street legal optioned out V10 Challenger would cost if a stripped down race only version starts at $85k. Could we be talking ZR1 territory?

I bet it costs them more to take all that stuff out than it would to just leave it in.

I don't think it'd be the same to put it in a "normal" challenger. There are a lot of changes on that list. I looked at the Ford Cobra Jet and that was in the $70's in 2009 (which is the same kind of thing, a body in white factory drag car), even though the regular Ford GT500 is much less.
