Question Boost and your clutch

Is anyone having issues with their stock clutch on boost?

Wondering how much HP the stock clutch can handle.

Burnt mine out in one week on 9 lbs of boost. Wouldn't hold a launch at all with the stock one. Got the fidanza twin now. No issues.

Maperformance has got the best deal on anything. I think it was like $1100 shipped and local shop install like $400. Can hold up too 1000 hp now. Very little chatter at all.

I could smell the stock clutch on a hard launch before my SC. So I went with the LPE twin disk with a lightened flywheel.

At the beginning I did experienced some slipping, but after the 1500 miles run it went away. I guess it’s normal when it’s a new car.

Double YOUR rwhp and then try again.

He's talking about a 550+whp boosted vehicle.

Mine has been working fine so far. But when racing at Phoenix, I tried slipping it to get hooked up (just like you do when stock) and it just lit up. Had to do some serious pedaling to get it to grab. So no more of that. It hooks fine if I just drop it. But not taking any chances and have a 9" dual disc coming, to install before this spring's racing season starts up.

I smoked mine once on the day I was putting it awayfor the winter.. instead of a smokey burnout I got smokey clutch. once it re-engaged it was fine, but I'm not taking any chances come spring as racing season is starting in april.

The LPE ZR-1 Dual disc and lightened flywheel is waiting to go in. It's a great looking peice!

I'VE GOTTEN 5K OUT OF MINE BUT NO HARD LAUNCHES, ROLL OUT AND NAIL IT AND THEN PEDAL IT TO CONTROL THE WHEEL SPIN, BEST OF 11.86 @ 119.9 BUT NOW I'M JUST STARTING TO GET A LITTLE CHATTER/SLIP IN 3RD AT JUST OVER 5K RPM, SO IT'S ON BORROWED TIME. WAITING ON CENTERFORCE'S NEW DUAL DISC WITH LIGHTENED FLYWHEEL. I'M SURE IF I BOLTED SOME DR'S AND LAUNCHED IT, I WOULD SMOKE IT ON THE SPOT. AS SOON AS I INSTALL THE CENTERFORCE I'LL BOLT UP THE DR'S AND SEE IF I CAN BREAK 11.50 OR QUICKER.
