The problem with the GTR is that Nissan won't cover it under warranty. Chevy will.

i said this in another thread............nobody knows for sure how these guys are driving but in everyone's defense........

Competition Mode is about as hard on this driveline as it gets. 4200rpm clutch sidestep with very limited tire spin.......just grab and go. a 6000rpm clutch sidestep should actually be easier on it because of the tire spin.

now if this seems to be an issue, be it a defect or design flaw.......RECALL IT! you give me Competition Mode but now tell me the gearbox might not handle it?

oh and thus far.........no issues. but i've only sidestepped the clutch at 6000rpm (trac control/stabilatrac off) once........what a monster!

The owner's manual actually tells us on page 8-35: "A smooth, quick release of the clutch..."

Sidestepping a clutch can be a killer on a clutch!

Do you have to wait a certain amount of time before you switch in to comp. mode? I have 400 miles and have not yet had a hard take off but I have played with the button.
Thanks

Basically, "side-stepping" is dumping the clutch by sliding your foot off the clutch pedal sideways, allowing the pedal to come up abruptly under spring tension and engage the clutch quickly; faster than raising your foot normally.

VIN 12364

Trying out competition mode for the 2nd time with 2k miles. Quick clutch release (not sidestep) and broke the output shaft.

Before seeing "sidestepping" on the internet, I had always called that "popping the clutch".

Doesn't seem to be a widespread problem at all.

Two VIN's not in the 16,000 range make me think otherwise.

Did I miss count at 5 cars? Out of 25000+ thats 0.02% If we say 25% are LS3 cars, a total guess, thats still only 5 out of 6250 and 0.08%. I think we may have some people abusing their cars and not being frank about it...

EVERYTHING HAS A LIMIT!
