San Diego County Mtn and High desert road trip - Saturday Jan 22nd - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

OK, So Cal Camaro Vigilantes: Now that the rains have ceased and our local Football teams are out... Myself and Petty Officer McAlister (on a previous thread-“San Diego Area”) have been working on a route that has winding mountain roads as well as High desert to get the most from a day’s drive. Here is the Route (Map link attached). Since the County covers a wide area we decided to have a couple of Rendezvous points. Start Point #1 is the Westfield Shopping Town in North County just off the I-15 and Via Rancho Pkway @ 0800, We will leave the Mall @ 0830 towards Ramona (Hwy 78)… rendezvous point #2 is the Sizzler in Ramona @ the East end of Town meeting at 0915-0945, we’ll gather uo, do a meet and greet and then the trip will officially start from the Sizzler @ 0945. The game plan is to Stop in Santa Ysabel to pick up some Bread (Dudley’s bakery)…. Then drive through Julian to Banner grade…. Down to thru high desert to Borrego, up the Montezuma Grade thru Ranchita back over to Hwy79 then to hwy76 and stop at the Lake Henshaw then down the mountain past Palomar and onto the Pala Casino… the Temecula / Riverside folks they can depart from there… otherwise the remaining group will head south on I-15 into the sunset. Hope we hear back from you Camaro ‘Vigilantes” who just want to get out and Drive!.….

Sounds like a blast, but my grandson is being Baptized the morning of the 22nd in Torrance, so I won't be able to make the Desert Road Trip. I had to move the CCSD / IECC / SoCal Family "Meet & Greet" in Old Temecula event from Saturday to Sunday the 23rd (so anyone interested in doing both Saturday and Sunday events, be sure to check out that thread).
