My dad found a 69 camaro. Just a plain jane 307 coupe all orginial. But the car has a title but when this guy bought it in 2003, he never had the car titled. It just didnt make since. My dad doesnt want to drop a good amount on this car for something that is messed up. Any ideas of what could have kept him from not titling it for 7 years.

didnt wanna mess with tax title and linces. Maybe wasnt planing on driving it just bought it to rack up value then sell .....i know alott of whole sale buys and guys who fix and sale cars on the side and title isnt always brought over in there name if they know a notery but he shouldnt make yall pay the double taxes that will be applied sence it wasnt delt with i would get that guy to pay r take off the price for that...just my opinion

Oh i know. I wouldnt pay for title tax either. The problem is that we are an average family. Already have 1 camaro but to buy this car we needed to take out a loan just to be safe but companies dont want to give out a loan when a car hasnt been titled for over 7 years. The guy told us he didnt want the DMV to take away the original title from him but idk. The title was signed over to him on the back of it.

If the title was dated when it was signed, you will have trouble as your state may put a fine on it for late title transfer. If it was just signed and not dated and the selor did not notify the state that is was sold, you can put the current date on it and the title should transfer as if the previous sellor just sold it. Make sense?

Yea i understand. But one thing i started thinking was could there be a problem with this title? And that led him to not titling the car?
