We get screwed price wise up here, so the states should be quite a bit cheaper.
Very odd indeed , as no pricing has been released here in Canada ! Not sure where he's getting his numbers from Must be pulling them from a hat .

If you can buy a brand new current model year Z06 for 82K....jump on it with both feet. Just checked GM website and the Grand Sport starts at 75K and the Z06 starts at 96K. The Z06 with the cash credits it going to run you 85K + taxes.

I do think 82K for the ZL1 is a little on the high side but I wouldn't be surprised to see a sicker between 70 -75K.

If you build a GT500 on the Ford.ca web site and only add a few options (Glass Roof, Recaros and the Track Pack), you end up at $68K plus our 15% sales tax.

Even if dealers don't gouge, they will get every cent of the list pricing, which will be considerable.

Will GM look to undercut the GT500 pricing or will it just say "our car is better (newer), more advanced (magnetic ride control) and has more options (as in Automatic Tranny) and so it will cost more"?

IMO, there is no way on earth you will get a ZL1 off a Canadian lot for less than 70K. And I suspect they won't leave any American lots for less than 60K, all in. The US has much lower sales taxes than us (Except for Alberta), so you MAY get one under 60K but I doubt it. Especially in 2012 when it's the cool, new thing.

In Dubai the price will probably be 100 grand, but you guys got all that oil money, so you can afford it.

$60k out the door is probably about right including taxes - about 55k MSRP. Maybe the base price would be slightly lower. I'm hoping it is lower but that's my current best guess. You'd pay over $70k for the base CTS-V.

Not according to the website:

Starting at $64,535*
From $64,535 to $73,195*

So add sales and GG tax and it's over $70k out the door.

I would guess the MSRP in the US will start at $52K/$53K/$54K, plus fees, options and taxes.
You might get a "stripper" off the lot for high $50's (in a low tax state), but that would be pushing it. Of course a "stripper" ZL1 would still be a PRETTY nice car.

I would guess the Canadian MSRP at about 8K to 10K higher. I would LOVE to know GM's plans on the pricing VS GT500. Will they try to beat it? Or will they say that the ZL1 is a superior car and should be priced as such?

Go to Edmunds.com, sedan and coupe are the same base price.

Ok?

So now it is just under 70k out the door if that is right. Edmunds.com should probably call GM and tell them the MSRP is wrong on the official webpage.

$64,340 base, where do you come up with 70k? You could easily buy from dealer for 60k plus 3k tax.
