Who Broke Their Rear end at Tristate on 3-20-10?

I was at tristate dragway and a silver SS appeared to trash his rearend when he hit second gear. I'm hoping that all is okay with the car, but was wondering what the extent of the damage was.

BTW - The car was badass and I really felt bad for the guy, but folks were quick to help him get her off the strip.

Hmmm, I wonder if they are a member of the this site. I know a friend of mine on facebook was at the strip Saturday but he has a IBM 2SS with white stripes. I will see if he knows.

Probably a broken axle shaft or tailshaft (if a manual). Bummer.

Yea they were probably using that damn launch control. That seems to be what causes some of the problems folks are having. I hope it all works out though. Poor guy, hope everything works out for him.

Good point. I would say it is. If not he should look into doing the Richmond 4:10 swap. After the cam package I installed it is a must. My wife loves me throwing money at my car.

Yeah, it really sucks for him. I hope for his sake it is covered. Wonder what happened? I heard that LC is nothing but trouble. It would be easy to tell if it were a half shaft as it would be loose. As for the output shaft, you could pick that out easy too as the car would not move at all, just run up the RPM...

Word has it that the guy was out on a test drive of the car and snuck into the drag strip and messed something up. Guess he'll be buying that one...

Yep, what an idiot, he may have had plans to go to Camaro5 Fest, maybe even had other plans to do things in the coming week. He had to go out and break it. Have you seen anyone with roses yet?

I would say the poor guy is sleeping on the couch. He will more than likely be cooking dinner for his wife along with many foot rubs. I bet he never uses launch control anymore though.
