Interior panels - were they painted? Who put them on? Was easy taking them off and putting them on? If they were painted, were they clear coated? How many clear coats? Looks like many people would like to get more information on the panels.

the stock cloth covered panels were removed by me. then the cloth was removed by me and cleaned and all glue removed. i then tooked them to my friends shop where he prepped them and painted them and cleared them. i reinstalled them all. the door inserts were the hardest because they are attached with torx head screws and they have the melted rivit looking deals attaching them to the door panels. to reinstall i used short fat screws in the factory melted rivit spots. worked great.

How do you pry those panels out of there? I don't see any screws on mine. I'll have to search on how to all those off. I think yours looks great! I would love to see that in my VR.

yes i used the stock cloth panels. the dash panels pop up and out. the door panels have to be removed then the inserts come out from the inside. u have to use a razor to cut the factory melted rivits and 4 or 5 torx head screws need to be removed. the factory cloth is stapled and glued on the dash pieces. the door trim cloth is glued on. all the cloth is pretty easy to remove.

Any pics of the dash trim or any more info on how to take it off? Also how hard was it to get the door panels off?

the dash trim is easy. get a plastic pry tool or whatever you want to use, and start at one end and work your way across. slip the tool under the trim from the botton and pop upwards. the door panels are easy to remove. 2 phillips screws on the bottom of door panel and one at the top of the inside of the door. there is a torx 30 in the door pull area (where you grab to shut the door) it is covered by a rubber cover. where the door handle is (the chrome handle to open the door) there is a plastic cover there u need to pop off to reveal a 9/32 hex head screw.after you get all the screws out the door panels are secured to the door by the plastic pins. i think there is 8 of them. there are also 6 pins across the top portion of the door. use your plastic pry tool to pop the door panel free from a few of them and then just pull the panel free. once you get into it its pretty self explained.

Got it! Thanks for the in depth explanation. Sounds fairly easy to do. Good job!

hey tanner dont youhave silver inserts inyour car now? if so i would suggest trading them to someone with cloth or see if you can get an extra set off of a wrecked camaro so you dont have to ruin your silvers.
