PTI is probably Power Train Industries that I posted the link to earlier. I would probably try the cheaper listing by Driveshaft Parts or if paying the same price the one on EBAY that someone has confirmed worked.

did a little more digging - ActionMachineInc did confirm their flex coupler will fit. I noticed on their website it was made by PTI, so i dug deeper - here is the companies info - it "looks" as if they are somehow related to Dorman - not 100% sure - but they did confirm the part in the link in my previous post will fit an Gen5SS

you guys got me thinking. just so happened dorman advertisement popped up on my phone. so i went there. they have replacement drive shafts for our camaro's and then for s**ts and grins i googled our clutch master cylnder and they have those also. might be just a matter of time that they should have replacement axles for 1LE's after i found our csc slave cylinder at rock auto for less than half the price that the premadona's charge the same exact thing. just gotta shop around. hope this helps. the oldman......

I checked DorMan but did not find anything specific to the Gen 5 Camaro. i sent them a note saying "you guys should make one" but have not heard back. i did find another source from in addition to the ActionMachine and PowerTrainIndustries noted above
https://www.driveshaftparts.com/inde...arch=gac02-004

so maybe not so un-obtanium as originally thought. seems like if ACDelco/GM decided to drop their OEM parts, they could at least inform Gen 5 owners what their options are, as noted, after over 1 week with GM Executive Customer Service, their "final answer" was "eBay/Salvage yards"...... I ordered the one in the link here, and have 2 used ones from a guy in Nebraska who had a bunch of drive shafts for sale, he cherry picked 2 he thought looked the best for me..... will i ever need 3 - probably not, but I need one right now, so have 2 in back up! Cheers

BTW - some pics of my partially melted flex joint. the resonators were installed to eliminate the drone my Borla Touring exhaust created (Borla Touring not available for 14/15 model years as GM changed teh VVT and Borla could not tune the drone out). resonators work great, until i realized I was melting the flex joint. a little space and some heat wrap - so far so good. and note, the plastic zip ties did not stay, I used metal ones, these pics were from the 'work in progress'!! next time I am under there checkign to be sure there is no more flex joint material melting and slinging around, i will grab a pic of the finished job!

I knew someone would say something (this forum is full of wise guys - in a good way!)

That is why i noted above the plastic zip ties were to position the heat wrap, i finished with metal zip ties - photo's of the finished job to follow!

we won't bother going to "old ladies bitching about our driving" that is thread in and of itself. this weekend, took my lovely bride up the Canyon here in CO, 93 to Blackhawk then up to Nederland, back down highway 72 - some great roads and there was NO TRAFFIC, but 0.5 miles in she said "please drive like a sane person so i enjoy this ride" she enjoyed it, I ...... did not!! LMAO

SS Gen5 Rubber Coupler Replacement for 92249108

I know that this post is about one year old at this point, but thought the information would be helpful. I know that many of us have been trying to find the rubber couplers for the SS driveshaft and fasteners. I understand the parts were discontinued some time ago. In trying to find a replacement, I found the exact same rubber coupler and bolt/nut assembly from the Gen6 SS, part number 23291768. I have confirmed the correct bolt and nut assembly from Gen5 coupler part numbers 92228335 and 92228333. The rubber coupler has the correct markings or “GAC02-004”, “SGF” and “5144110315”. Part number 23291768 is about $79 at Amazon.

Great info! I wonder if the ones for the Gen6 ZL1 will work on a Gen5 ZL1 shaft.
