JD Powers Survey (clutch rating??)
So I am about till out a JD Powers Associate survey tonight... I am gonna be very fair on this car. Wanted to get an opinion on something though...
I really think that the Clutch on LS3's are pathetic and cheap. They burn really fast when driving on hills and create this "clunck" sound between gears. In my car when you press it sometimes, it makes a really cheap sound (like something bouncing in there) I also did a search here on the clutch issues, and wow there are quite a few of them. Anyways, am gonna rip them in the mechanical section... |

If there is an issue with the clutch, and this brings gm's attention to it, it's a good thing. The camaro is an awesome car, but that's no excuse to justify a defect if there is one.

Might be something to do with competition mode.

That's what these surveys are for, to tell them what is wrong and what is right. |

I've said before, I prefer a manual transmission for a number of reasons. I first learned to drive a manual and initially took my driver's test with one umpteen years ago. I've tried to order Chevy pickups loaded out with a manual to no avail. Before I bought my Camaro I did a world of reading on this forum and noticed the clutch problems being mentioned in short order. I decided for myself the clutch was too little for the power and weight. I went with the L99 STRICTLY for that reason. Seven months into the love affair, I love, the auto tranny in these cars...more so than any auto I've ever driven. If it's not red light after red light, I'm tap shifting 100% of the time.
If your clutch sucks, by all means tell J.D. it sucks. I hope Chevy addresses the problem. If and when they do, I'll be placing an order for a LS3 the following day. I want growling exhausts, but refuse to disable the AFM and throw my warranty out the window. I'm still awestruck by the miles per gallon I've averaged over a period of 8K miles and have no intention of parting with my L99 econobox either... |

I do agree if you honestly feel that you do not like the clutch put it on the survey.
It will help GM/Chevy out. |

I agree as well, I just got back from the dealer tonight and they said the clutch is normal. For me I can live with it, BUT I WISH it wasnt this way. I love this car but if I had this survey I would lay it to em and hope GM listens and fixes our clutches.
