Steering Wheel Silver Plastic Piece

Just picked up my Camaro a couple of weeks ago and just recently noticed that the right side silver plastic on the steering wheel is not flush with the wheel. See attached picture for what I am describing. I can place my finger nail behind it easily. Is this normal or something easy to fix? Or am I just being crazy?

Looks ok to me but if you want to check it out on hook your battery and pop out the airbag see if one of the taps were bent when it was installed!!!!

Try giving it a little push in to see if it gives any, and how much it gives if it does. That part is out of my car right now, being painted, so unfortunately I can't check on my car at the moment, but that does appear to be sticking out just a TEENSY bit too much.

Took a few more pictures with a real camera instead of my phone.

The bottom popped in actually. Maybe that helped a little. I have a feeling I'm being a little too nit picky here...

I know my wife would say "OMG are you kidding me!"

Nope, never found a solution. Was going to point it out when I take my car in for a couple warranty items to have checked.

disconnect the battery, pop off the airbag and just check the clips. I swapped my bezel out for a black chrome one back in october. Takes all of 30 min start to finish. If that.

On tapatalk right now, you can check my albums for the pics though. I got all my interior stuff from a member named 6liter.
