Iowa caravan to the fest - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I am starting this thread to put a game plan together for the fest. I am looking to leave around 9 am from the iowa city area, and travel on I-80 to I-74 to indy. If others speak up would love to stop and pick them up, and if others going this route would love to meet up.

Travel plans sound fine to me. I was wondering since the host hotel hasn't been posted yet if any thought has been given to staking out a "Iowa" hotel/motel at this early date? Given that the numbers were over 1200 last time I looked the local hotel/motels are going to fill quickly once the host is announced.

it is a big fest that changes locations every year. they rent a track for drag racing and autocross racing. they have a lot of vendors that come to show off products, great place to get deals on upgrades. they also do a car show. but most of it is a weekend with a ton of camaros that guys and gals like to show off and talk about!! highly recommend going if your able, its a blast, i have been to both.

The Fest is a blast...went to the one in Chandler, AZ last. made a great road trip

On what day are you leaving? I have to work on the first but I plan on leaving either that night or super early the next morning. I would like to caravan for sure.

Cyberg looks like there is a group meeting at newton raceway at 6am on Thursday. Than they are meeting another group at coral ridge mall around 715. So Scott I would say meet us at Coral ridge mall no later than 720. I say we meet at sears rather than best buy, it puts us closer to exit.

The reason I said Best Buy first cuz the Best Buy sign sticks out like a turd in a punch bowl and EVERYONE knows where Best Buy is. However, we're meeting at SEARS you need to make that more clear in the Iowa section too.
