Go over to lstech and see what they say.

LOL, I don't think mileage is a requirement. Welcome to Camaro5, where things always gets interesting. I want to commend you on your loyalty to GM and its products. I'm sure it stems from a long history in your family. Glad your enjoying your SS, may it bring you many miles of smiles.

But that's par for the course considering what the name of this website is.

No. That IS ugly, yes. The early not over done flared nostril version of this was dead sexy looking though.

Why don't you go back and reread what you're last post was to me and then let me know what I'm trying to say.

Honestly i dont understand why GM has more then one sports car, and now there is talk about a full size v8 sedan..

I personally dont buy a car for stock numbers... I prefer GM for my performance goals. IF i wasnt a hot rodder I would probably drive a toyota or honda. Reliable good vehicles unlike most of the GM junk lately but I am sure someone will disagree.
i obviously didnt know it wasnt made anymore hence the reason i mentioned it

Lol...I thought this was the correct place where the opinions and views of non Camaro owners would be welcomed, as part of "General and Other" discussions....????

The 4th Gen Camaro Z28 was introduced with the LT1 SB at 275 HP, then 285 and later some were modified by SLP in 1997 with 330 HP with the old SB chevy engine. In 1998 Chevy introduced the LS1 engine in the Camaro at 305 HP. In 2001 the Z28 Camaro got 310 and the SS got 325 HP. In 2001 SLP (aftermarket) offered SLP Camaros through dealerships with 345 HP with a few bolt ons. The 1993 Base Corvette had 300 HP and the 1997 Corvette was introduced with 345 HP and increased that to 350 in 2001. Corvette introduced the Z06 LS6 engine with 385 in 2001 and that was increased to 405 in 2002. There was never a time when the 4th gen Camaro matched any Corvette in HP from the factory. If I have my facts wrong, please point me to the correct information from a reliable source.
"The most powerfull engine there is. It is extremely underrated, and can produce massive amounts of power. People think the Earth spins because of gravitational forces ... completely wrong ... there is an LS1 in the core of the planet that is causing the spin ... a few have been put in space to move the planets around the sun too" LOL
On a serious note the LS1 that came in the 4th gen F body is one of the most underrated engines of all time. Its got to be up there with the Grand National and 03-04 Cobra. There were quite a few bone stock (down to the filter and 245" tires) 98-02 Z28's that ran high 12's. Thats a 305 HP car that weighs 3400+ lbs. Yeah right 305 HP. More like 305RWHP. I would say the SLP 345hp package SS's definitly had more HP than the same year Vette. The LS1 in a Vette was exactly the same as the Camaro. I do believe the Vette motor was making slightly more HP than the base Z28 though due to its better exhaust and induction. Other than that they were exactly the same year for year.

Even the dyno numbers showed that they produced roughly the same power.

Brilliant display of backtracking your previous rediculously false comment...you even told a fib about your fib. Your comment was not factual! Have you ever considered becoming a politician? I never said the Corvette and Camaro got a "totally different LS1" I simply stated that one poster acknowledged the fact that Chevrolet's policy was that the sibling Camaro was not allowed to have an engine rated at higher HP than the Corvette, which I proved with factual information, something you are apparently incapable of doing. I would love to see your dyno sheets to back up your other dubious comment.

Gee and I always thought that GM's most powerful production engine was the LNF, rated at 130Hp per liter.
