Power windows

I have searched the forum and can't seem to find an answer. Apologies if this has been and answered "problem"

The front two windows are only power down not power up. The only time they are power up is when the car is parked. The back windows are always power up and down. Is this a safety feature for the convertible?

Interesting. I've had my windows (all four) power up on my 2011 convertible. However, just today I noticed while by back windows were down the fronts would not power up. Maybe it's just a touchy thing where you have to trigger the switch the right amount of time for it to work but that's my experience so far.

Yeah, I don't know, I've only had the car for two weeks...would I be wasting my time if I took it in to the dealer?

I noticed with my 2011, in order for the front windows to be one touch up, the back windows MUST be in the up position or the one touch up will not work for the fronts.

per the owner's manual (2-14):

Express Window Operation

Coupe and Convertible Top

The window switches have an express-up and down feature that raises or lowers the window without holding the switch. Pull the switch up or press it down all the [way] fully and release it. Stop the window by operating the switch in the same direction.

Convertible Top Only

To express-up a front window, the same rear window must be closed.

To close all the windows, pull all the window switches up fully and release within four seconds. This will result in the windows closing automatically.

Yeah I just went for a drive and realized it as well. It's a little annoying that they can't just be power up all the time. Thanks for the help!

Express Window Operation

Coupe and Convertible Top
The window switches have an express-up and down feature that raises or lowers the window without holding the switch. Pull the switch up or press it down all the fully and release it. Stop the window by operating the switch in the same direction.

Convertible Top Only
To express-up a front window, the same side rear window must be closed. To close all the windows, pull all window switches up fully and release within four seconds. This will result in the windows closing automatically.

Express Window Anti-Pinch Feature

When express-up is active, the window will auto-reverse if there is an obstruction or severe icing. The window returns to normal operation after the obstruction or condition is removed. If conditions prevent a window from closing and it continues to auto-reverse, the window can be closed by having the ignition in ON/RUN and holding the window switch
up until the window is closed.

So what's the reason for this? Out of curiosity

This is a safety feature which inhibits anything from getting pinched in the window.

I tested it today - it works as Brandon says. In fact, if the back windows are down and you attempt to put the fronts up auto, they don't go. But if you auto or manual the backs up then as soon as they are up the fronts will start to go up automatically with no touching. I never knew.
