So it's still American made. Just not US made...

I don't think there is actually a North American flag so I don't think it is semantics. They are built in Canada or I suppose it would be more accurate to say they are 'assembled' in Canada. I don't know why that is the case but for some reason that's where we put them together. It's a bit ironic that Hondas, Toyotos, Hyundais and the like are all put together right here in the good old USA. Just doesn't make sense to this old boy.

Once they ceased being 100% owned or at least 51% majority American owned they became a foreign owned company. Spin it anyway you want but those are the facts.

And as others pointed out in this thread, Chrysler didnt really have a choice in the matter. Would you prefer them to still exist or have gone out of business back in 2007-8 and have all of those American workers lose their jobs?

Trials are won arguing semantics.

Some camaros were being made in Canada in the 1960s and 70s maybe forever. The next gen Camaro will be made on US soil.

Yeh...but still under Japanese control...sort of like a Japanese embassy that employs US help.

Who really cares enough that this will affect their daily lives? The common car buyer doesn't care who owns what or where a car was manufactured as long it has everything they want.

Fiat owns Ferrari sooooo I'm sure they know how to build properly or hire people to do so.

Take a look at Oshawa's history from a quality, co$t of production, and GM inve$tment$ p.o.v. And take a look at Ontario's and Canada's "contributions" to the infamous bailout...17%.

Actually, Gen-4s ('93-'02, including all SLP variants) were built/assembled exclusively in Canada. When Ste. Therese QC closed in '02, ask fbodfather what the initial effects, and ramifications, were/are. He has written, here, about those...very eloquently and emotionally...

All i can say in the matter as a owner of 2 dodge vehicles they make very good products. Which ever direction they have gone in the last few years has been good for the brand.
