Got my FARK about a week ago.....just ordered rear seat sub-frame thingee, door speaker adapters, and the amp replacement plate/support.

Can't decide between JL 700/5 ($$$), the Alpine PDX-5, or the Infiniti Kappa 5. I like good sounding music, but am by no means looking for perfection - especially in a convertible! Anyone's thoughts (quality, ease of install, adjustments, sound, etc...) on the 3 amps mentioned above would be appreciated.

Also - a sub recommendation for the rear seat area would be appreciated (Kicker? Something else?)

Steve - based on what I am reading in the above posts, it sounds like you have to wire up the FARK a bit differently for convertible. Am I correct? Got a diagram you can post?

Also, I remember seeing on another post that the current batch of FARKs need some simple wire swapping and you made a video showing how to do the swap. Can you post that here as well?

Thanks!

Not really. The gray harnesses aren't needed at all on a vert because you don't have rear 6x9s.

Ok. So how do the back seat speakers get hooked up?

Also -any advice from "the pro" on the amps and sub mentioned above??

The rear seat speakers use the two channels on the x2 that the tweeters use on the coupe. Once you go to the aftermarket, these will be getting full range so set your crossovers accordingly.

Steve,
If you catch this, I sent you an email last night to your general info email asking for all the harnesses, speakers and components I need to upgrade.
After seeing your pics of the stock BA speakers, I'm ready to go.
Thanks

Does anyone (besides one in this this thread) else have images of rear speaker upgrades in convertible? I'm interested in the increased 5.25" size, even with cutting. I like the idea that if I screw up the grill or dont like it I can buy a new one if necessary...

Or has anyone mounted a 5.25 behind the factory grill for concealing it better?

Any info in the dual 12" sub setup? Im going to a stereo shop later today to have a custom box made for my 2 12" subs. The guy said he will probably have to make 2 separate boxes for each sub in order to make it fit without taking up all the trunk space in front of where the pull out screen for the top goes.

I put 6 1/2 in the back. Have to modify things a little but they will fit.

Coog has bigger speakers in the back. If he sees this he may chime in.

Ok so a little help, I have yet to pick up my convertable til this week and I have my JL W6 with its enclosure, will the box box fit fit without any problems and I just need to secure it? If not I am not sure hoe it will sound out the the box. Dimensions: 12-1/2"D x 7-1/4"TD x 16"W x 12-3/4"H.

Also where is the AMP located as I have my faithful Rockford Fosgate Punch, ( before they sold out to the Japs) I would like to install. Thanks

I've got Morel Maximo 5.25" co-ax in the rear. After spending a few hours trying to devise a way to install them behind the side panel (like the stock speakers), I just couldn't do it. Either hunks of metal framing were in the way or the magnet on the speaker would be stuck on something or the back of the rear fender. I ended up mounting them on the side panel. I was somewhat disappointed I had to do this, but it actually came out pretty good and the sound is great. I've even received a few compliments from fellow club members on the install.

Put Hybrid Audio Technologies in the front. The Morel speakers sound way better....wish I would have bought Morels for the front too! may have to change one day when I know I'll need to take the door panels off.
