Why doesn't the emergency brake hold the car?

I laugh at people when they take my car for a drive, more then one has had to use both hands to pop the e-brake loose. They look at me and go "Wtf man, why do you pull this thing up so much?". I just tell them to work out some more.

I've had no issues with the e-brake holding (after 10 years in a M5 car with command start its ingrained in me not to put it in gear), but I will definatly keep a close eye on if it starts getting loose.

I found that if you don't yank on it, it may roll. Don't just pull up on it slowly until it feels tight... give it a good yank and be sure!
