Craigslist DD Challenge - DD/Commuter car for 6K or less??

Background:
My new job is requiring 100 miles roundtrip commute per day so I've created this thread for fellow members to post DD/commuter ideas.

Rules:

Commuter vehicle MUST be 6K or less. Ads with pics are a MUST!

Considerations:
Condition
Mileage
Fun Factor
MPG
Reliability
Cost of ownership - Repairs, insurance category, maintenance level et al

I've considered German wagons to Japanese Imports to Domestic 4 bangers, so post the best car you can find for under 6K and let the fun begin.

You can have my Fiesta when I'm done with it in 2 years. I have 51,000 miles on it after 367 days. lol You can probably get a Kia Rio around 50,000 miles for 6k....at least I found several for that price and mileage out here.

Alright on the charlotte craigslist type in supra turbo custom, was put on today, the 19th. Rebuilt engine, looks good from pictured and turbo. $5500, could probably talk him down.

Awesome ideas guys! Keep em coming... SouthEast would be ideal but I'm willing to travel for the right deal. Probably not to CA or Montana or something but a roadtrip might be fun!

P.S. I already have a small cc bike that gets 70 MPG but it's not practical or safe for 90 miles in the winter and rain on the highway...

I've been tossing up the idea of a full size van as a DD/Tow vehicle for towing my car to track days but am unsure about the low MPG. The Ford Transit XL's are pretty awesome tho! 25 -30 MPG! I dont think they'll tow

I'm likely going to stick to a wagon or sedan for functionality and practicality as a tow vehicle/DD is just not ideal.

what year 4 runner? I hear the tacomas run forever actually. Are older 3 series bmw's too much of a maintenance nightmare?
