black vinyl decal care

I have white vinyl ralley stripes on my car. I can wax those just fine. I'm wondering about the black vinyl ralley stripes. They appear to be flat rather than glossy. What do you guys use to protect them? What can I use to keep them from drying out and cracking over time?

Thanks guys.

Adam's Clear Polish for matte stripes. Wax on glossy stripes.

nonsense! wax is fine on glossy stripes. I've waxed mine for almost a year, with no adverse effects, except for stripes that glow almost as good as the clear coat.

Well those are the stripes I'm concerned with as long as they are from GM. So they are glossy? I didn't want to risk it with wax. I wasn't sure if what I was feeling was flat or glossy.

A lot of people use Turtle Wax ICE on stripes. Can't say from personal experience how it works though.

My stripes are CGM.. Therefore ok to wax. The only stripes I recommend Adam's clear polish for are the matte black stripes.

Right on, I'll make sure what I'm working with is black, not CGM then. I appreciate your help.

I have the black matte stripes on my CGM. I use Zaino products on mine and haven't had a problem at all. No buildup, no problem. I always rub/buff in the direction of the stripe though.. Good Luck.

Okay, I found what jgnitro c was talking about, http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/detail.htm Doesn't say anything about matt colored vinyl though.

I called the phone number for Adam's and asked what they have to protect matt colored vinyl stripes. I was told if they are kept clean with a waterless cleaner, they should be okay. That, there isn't anything on the market to protect them.

I use the turtle wax ice synthetic wax product for mine, can't remember the exact name but it comes in a squirt bottle and after I used it the first time I saw instant difference. after putting it on the water beeded nicely afterward. I try to spray them every 4-5 wash jobs, about once a month or so

I've been using Adam's Americana on my factory stripes. I haven't had any problems, and the water beads on the stripes.
