Why can't I hardly spin the tires

I'm baffeled I have a 2010 ls3 with 8,000 miles it's got a cai kooks headers and gmpp off road, And stock pirelli's I almost have to dump the clutch at 4k to get it to spin, it's not tuned yet, I have tried all configurations of the traction control it feels really strong but it just won't spin. I know it will save the tires but I like to have fun also. Just wondering if anybody else has the same thing.

Press and hold the button till all is off. Then it shouldn't take a whole lot to get some wheel spin. Do you have a CEL on? That could cause it to dial back the performance.

I can smoke the living daylights out of mine... dont have to dump the clutch at all. I can get the car moving in first normally then mash the gas and they light up no sweat... Always have. I have almost 20K on the car. Same mods as you only mines tuned.

First get that bad boy tuned. Youre not getting any advantage to your mods... actually my have LOST torque. TUNE TUNE TUNE!!!

Hmmm, yeah, something is not right. I can break loose very easily. Scared my self shitless a couple of times. Maybe you got bad gas or 87 octane and you are running on the low octane table.

Mine seems to have a bit of a power fluctuation sometimes too. I am wondering if it is the weak MAF sensor.

You should be fine with 91 Octane. How long have you owned the car?

The P zeros hook up bretty good but you should be able to smoke the shit out of em. I wouldnt drive it till I had it proffesionally tuned. Be sure to let your tunner know whats goin on with it.
Good Luck

OK, so it was used... was it bone stock when you got it and you added the CAI, headers and exhaust?

Few things... someone dumped so bad gas in it and now the PCM has it running the 87 octane tune. This is common and the car seems to have a bad habit of not going back to the right tune. First I woudl try the fuse pull. Not sure which ones, but do a search and you will find tons of info. Worked well for many people.

Next... If you bought it like it is... the previous owner may have had it tuned then dumped the stock tune back in to trade it off or whatever...

Finally, you really need to get that thing tuned. If you have CAI, headers and exhaust and a stock tune... youre missing out on good HP and TQ.

Good luck!

Eh, he can drive it but I wouldnt beat on it. My guess is its in the low octane tune mode... the fuse pull will fix that BUT he should still have it tuned.

Everyone buying a used SS should do the fuse pull ASAP.

... or just get it tuned.
