have to hear it (together) to believe

i was a firm believer in the v6 cannot sound like v8 debate....but i mean...just listen (not my car)

FAST FORWARD to 1:30


compare to this custom v8 (which sounds nice) FAST FORWARD TO 0:24


and this one (for external reference & bc i LOVE THAT FLUTTER @ end of accel. this one shares w v6 in 1st vid




...is it the headers on the v6 doing the magic bc i dont hear a true dif between the 3

I need to get the $ for this!

I can't find a full system for the exhaust though from SLP (a complete cat back)

I was planning on bolting up the v8 cherry bomb system ($400) bc it fits our v6 set-up

I just want to know how much those headers are helping the sound? Because if they really aren't then I'm getting that exhaust! I'm torn because I want sick sound but if you replace the whole system(catback) you will get a small little hp/torque bump.

probably the lion-share - listen to it alone from the slp site

Yep, luckily I don't have to upgrade my headers yet. They don't make them for the LFX and may never, who knows.

Headers have a lot to do with sound. My LT's def change the sound of my exhaust.

I am sure the headers are playing a huge role. Just last night I pulled into a gas station and when I got out a guy asked what size V8 I had in there. I told him it was a V6 and his jaw just dropped "Thats a V6?!?! Man that sounds throaty as hell" put a smile on my face talked to him awhile and made his jaw drop again when I mentioned hp and the fact I was getting 30 mpg highway.

the entire exhaust system has to work together, but the headers make a huge difference.

btw it sound very close if not the same as my MRT 1.0.

Maybe it is the high-flow from the headers THEN restriction THEN high flow again from axle back

bc this set-up sounds rice even though it has LT headers...it has a full cat-back, so idk



and idk if you guys hear it but this set up sounds like it has bronchitis, while the 1st vid i posted is nice and smooth sounding right through the rpms

they will sound similar at idle and low rpms, try long tubes or shorties with cutouts on a v6 and believe me you will fool people. But once you go past 3-4000rpm it will sound like a v6, a badass v6

Sounds like a small block V8 almost. Definetly not Rice -0- Roni.
