tires and 30,000 mile service

went in to my dealer today for routine oil change...i have had everything done at my dealer so far

they told me today i am almost due for a 30,000 service which includes fuel system service, alignment check, ect. ect.
they told me it would run about 400 bucks, does this sound right or could i get the same thing done somewhere else much cheaper?

I have had my car for a year and a half now and my tires are bald...ones in the back are completely bald, ones in front are close
dealer estimated about 1200 to get the same ones but on and aligned

should i stick with the same tires or should i go with all season tires and what would be cheaper

also is it kinda odd to be needing new tires this soon?

on a tight budget i dont want crappy tires but what would be a little cheaper for me? maybe discount tire?

Getting 30k on a set of Pzeros is good. My back tires are done at 17k. Have all your stuff done for $400 isn't bad, and you will have a service paper trail to go with the car.

i know the front and rear tires are different sizes
this may be a stupid question but the wheels are the same right? so could i go with the same size front and rear so next time i have new tires i can rotate them?

I doubt he has the P Zero's on the V6. 30000 miles on a tire isn't bad however 40000 is better. Meaning it all depends how ya take care of them. Proper tire pressure and rotation are key along with (not burning rubber every half mile). Shop around at All your local tire dealers. See who has the best tires for cost. As for the Dealer suggested Maintenance, I'd suggest to read your Owner's manual and see what it tells you at that milage. Ya gotta watch dealers.

So can you run either stock front or rear rims all around so the rotation can be performed.

i do have the pzeros, i take care of them and keep the pressures right at all times, just can't rotate them which sucks

The only thing i have done that could have wore them out was 1 day at the drag strip just for fun, just wanted to do it once

For me I will be able to replace just the rears this time around, because the fronts still look good. The next time I have to do all four, I'm thinking of going with a set of Hankooks.

Go to discount tire, see what they are offering. I've had nothing but great luck with them on my cars. Free Shipping and free replacement if the tire can't be fixed. Might also be cheaper than your dealer is offering.
