Towing Camaro on trailer (Budget)
Has anyone towed their camaro through Budget? I'm going to go through them to tow my car. I've heard some people have issues getting out of their car, after parking on a trailer, and then opening their door because of the wheel wells on the trailer. wasn't sure what trailer they were using. any info on this? car is stock height. thanks!

Sorry--I don't have any experience with trailering a car.

Is your Camaro lowered or not?
Secondly, I have a lot of experience with this. I have rented both UHAUL and BUDGET trailers and prefer the UHAUL

If you're using an open trailer, getting out of the car shouldn't be an issue. Hell, could even put down a window and climb out that way if it makes you nervous. If its a box trailer, see if they have a winch, its much easier to just winch the car in and then you never have to open any doors and you can watch the car come up the ramps and make sure it doesn't bottom out. Additionally, if its an open trailer, you'll need either a bra or something to protect the nose, because the truck pulling it, will absolutely coat it with rocks.

With uhaul trailers if I remember correctly last time I towed my corvette the fenders of the trailer dropped down so you could open the door..

You can also climb out the window and then turn the key off and hit auto up on the window. The power will shut off in 10 minutes. Cover the front in plastidip or blue tape. Make sure you have boards for loading if you need. You can jack the nose of the trailer up to decrease the angle of the ramps.

When we towed a 97 Z/28 with a U-haul we were able to pop the fenders off and open the doors. But I've towed with other trailers (towed a BMW with a budget trailer once) and we did have to crawl out of the window because it was too wide and the door wouldn't open. It is just gonna depend on the trailer.

camaro is not lowered. And i'm going with budget because it's a few hundred dollars cheaper.
i'll be renting a moving truck and open trailer, and driving myself. Thanks for all the replies. I guess worse comes to worse, i'll try to climb out the trunk. i don't know if i can fit through the window. lmao

I think it depends on what type of Veh ur towing it with. I towed mine from VA to Houston and back with no rock damage. I used an Escalade ESV.

This is all good info for me. I will be towing my car in April to my next base. Tapping up the front end is such a good idea.

Sounds like you have made up your mind. I have only used U-Haul and the fenders lowered on the trailer I rented. That being said check the front for ground clearance and be prepared to get a pair of 2X10's or 2X8's might be strong enough to extend the ramp and lower(or raise, how ever you look at it) the angle of contact. 8 ft. long should do the trick. I guess you could use smaller boards stacked on top of each other. Maybe someone on here will chime in that has more experience about it and has done it, I had enough clearance on mine but it will do some serious damage if the front end of your car hits the trailer and then you will do even more damage backing up off the trailer.
