Safety Harness question - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have a question regarding the correct install of a 4,5, or 6 point harness.
I frequently see harnesses attached at the stock lap belt points, but the shoulder straps attached to the harness bar itself.
IS THIS CORRECT, or should the shoulder belts connect to another point such as the rear seatbelt mounting points.

Anyone have a definitive answer?
any physicists want to chime in?

Read the rule book of the racing class you're interested in. Safety rules are not universal black and white items across all sanctioning bodies.

Let me elaborate- I am not concerned with any safety rules, what I am asking is about the safety of the structure, where should the shoulder harnesses attach to? Rear seatbelt points, or the harness bar itself?

Can't guarantee structural rigidity of every bar being equal but belt length is best shorter than longer. Strength is case by case.
