Car accident yesterday.... =( has anyone done a V6 to SS front fascia change?

At fault accident, sigh...

Driver side front fascia damaged, bent.:m ad0259::cr y:

2014 1LT/RS BLK Camaro, is this a good excuse to go for a ZL1 front fascia or 2014 SS front fascia? Does it going to work and fit perfectly with no problem without any modification? Has anyone tried this?

Thanks...

Dam dude bummer... but I am curious too as to the process of converting my 2014 LT bumper to an SS or ZL1 bumper.

If you got away without damaging your hood and fenders then you have about 600 dollars worth of repairs here. If you go with a ZL1 bumper, possibly 1,200 dollars.

Either way, accidents suck. I hope you get your car fixed quickly.

There will need to be some modifications or replace the hood too so the hood cowl lines will match up.

Does that apply for both the SS and ZL1?

The 2014 v6 has the same hood as the 10-13 SS and V6 , the 2014 SS cowl and the 2012-2014 ZL1 cowl are wider and even those are different widths from each other. Others have tried, but a good body shop can modify either fascia to match whichever hood you want to use.

If my hood is fine from the accident (which it looks fine, I guess), I will keep the V6 hood, but I'd love to switch to a SS front fascia though.

If you're switching to a 14 SS front fascia, while it's unpainted just have the body shop sand down the cowl lines before they paint and install it.

If you swapped to a ZL1 fascia, would that work with a 2014? 14-15s have shorter headlights. Would that effect anything else? (outside of cowl lines.) That be my only question about the ZL1 route.

More would need to be changed if going to the ZL1 fascia, headlight, Foglights, DRLs both grilles... Probably other things like brackets and mounting points but I am not sure.

That's what I was thinking, but I didn't know for certain. It'd be an SS conversion for me then.

I will go ahead for a SS front fascia then since it is easier and cheaper... has anyone done this? is there any specific mod in order to have the SS front fascia work on the V6?

THANks

Send a message via MSN to Scott@Bjorn3D
I think the 14/15 front ends are the same and on the V6 and V8. The change is the hood vent on the SS.
