Question for the hunters/gun experts here...........
What kind of handgun would be the best choice for Bear defense/Killing a bear?
1. This gun would be used while fly fishing/hiking so no shotty's or rifles 2. price is no object 3. One shot one kill potential would be nice, but at the same time I don't want a Desert Eagle or something that would be really hard to get a second shot off due to blow-back. And before you chime in Icky, No. Throwing Knives aren't going to work. |

My guess would be nothing less than a .454 Casull but I'm certainly not an expert

The Taurus judge 45/410 revolver. Perfect, just a word of caution, the 410 rounds will hurt you so get it with the first shot or you may not be able to feel your hand for the second! Well I'm a small framed female at least that's what it felt like to me but either way this gun is accurate and will do the job with either the 45 or 410.

Any kind of hand gun will scare off the bear in 1-2 shots if they are close. Don't even have to aim it them, just shoot it in the air. |
