DRIVESHAFT REPLACEMENT? ALUMINUM OR STOCK?
I ended up tearing the boot of my driveshaft at COTA a few weeks back. Not sure how or what happened, but i am being told there are no boot repair kits for the ZL1 1LE driveshaft. So I might as well upgrade if I am replacing.
The car is strictly used on track for road course. Is the best option Aluminum from driveshaft shop? https://www.driveshaftshop.com/domes...nsmission-only Has anyone hear good or bad things about aluminum driveshafts on track? or should I try to find a stock replacement? |

I have an Aluminium one for my 240SX track car (300 whp) from them and it's awesome. Made the car more responsive.
The ZLE has twice the power, but should be fine if the build quality is the same. I planned on upgrading in a year or two. |

You'll be fine. I've seen them on much higher HP cars and never personally knew anyone with an issue.

For another $500 (if your finances allow), you might consider CF. Not a whole lot of weight savings but if durability is the issue, CF may be a viable route/consideration for you.

The GForce 3.5" aluminum one is ultra smooth and very nice. Two thumbs up so far on mine.

This^ very pleased with my Gforce shaft. ~ 10k miles and several track days with no issues. I'm around 730whp so you should be fine.

I don't have personal experience with them, but when I was looking at driveshafts for my Z/28, I heard a LOT of bad feedback about DSS.

Not off hand, but I did weigh the new GForce vs the stock one and the GForce one was about 7 pounds lighter than the stock SS driveshaft. If you have a ZL1, the difference will be even more.
