I'm with you ^ A performance car is meant to be enjoyed and personally, I feel like I enjoy it most when I'm a part of it. Not just saying stop or go.
And I was just messing with the auto guys. I like driving a stick because it's more involved. I'm not making it up when I say I drive it to enjoy it and feel connected and a part of the driving experience. I have, however noticed that women seem to like the fact that I drive a stick. Not that that had anything to do with me buying it in the first place, but it's a plus. The ultimate rush for me is downshifting to pull hard through a corner. Even if you just keep it at normal speeds, it's still more fun than driving an auto round a corner will ever be for me. |

No seriously, you can't really understand until you've mastered it. And I said in my earlier post that the best feeling of driving comes when you downshift for a corner or modulate the clutch on a launch to minimize wheelspin. Something where you're in control and you're not just letting electronics sort things out for you. I imagine a woman likes it because it shows that you possess a range of attributes. And show them off so matter-of-factly and nonechelantly. |

I know. I need to borrow a manual to learn, though. Who wants to donate their clutch to better my learning experience?

I love driving stick, so my silver SS1 RS will have the Hust short throw - I think I'm gonna go with the cue ball shift knob instead of the T-handle.
For those who don't drive stick, I just have to say, there is nothing - NOTHING - like the feel of pushing the clutch in, puting it in to first gear at a stand still, reving the engine to the sweetspot, and then droping the clutch. That's something you can never do with an automatic (well, you could try a neutral drop, but you might have to cary your transmission home with you ) Of course there's more to the joy of driving stick than just that. They just make any car more fun. Even riding in a Yugo was more fun because they had a stick. |
