Question Help! I'm at the Dealer right now.. Question?

MY salesman/the car order guy is still saying that no cars can be ordered yet. He than talked to some regional manager guy on the phone and confirmed that people are just allowed to do "Quick orders" off the work bench. I s this still BS? I'm really getting the run around.... Please someone answer quick!!!

No, he is telling the truth but that is how they need to pre-order it...

They can order the car through Order Workbench just like they order all of their cars. Do they have allocation for any Camaros?

Read this thread:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8083

The only way to do it is through the quick order section - it needs to be retail order and sold order type.

Also make sure the salesman has the proper permissions to enter it -- if not, go to his supervisor/manager.

Make sure you get your 6 digit order reference

Pretty bad when the board is teaching the salesman how to place the order. Do the people who helped him get the commision?

I hope the salesman is reading the thread over his shoulder and gets the message!

they may have underestimated the fervor of the enthusiasts to pre-order, or maybe the just couldnt give a crap
they need to get off their asses, hats off to those that try though

Dude. There's a process that must be followed. Anybody who has a job can tell you that. He's not the CEO of the company. He can't just snap his fingers and make all your dreams come true.

Easy....I 'm just trying to get what everyone else is getting. A Camaro ordered.

Just got back from the dealer. It ended up taking them 2 & 1/2 hours in the back room to give it to me in writing that I would not be charged over MSRP. Plus, another guy came in to order a camaro and was getting the same. He told me they still didn't know how many Camaros they were getting. So they wrote me out an invoice for the camaro stating that I would not be charged over MSRP, but my Quick order order type still say "TRE-Retail Stock". I asked him about that and he told that not to worry....I would get me car I thought it had to say "Sold Order"?.

Congrats on the order. The fact that your salesman picked up the phone says he was genuinly trying to assist you. I am setting in the #1 GM dealership for sales 2 years running and we will make this 3 in a row and I can honestly say that most of the enthusiasts here on the forums know more about this car than most of the national sales staff. You have been researching, waiting, and talking up this vehicle and we greatly appreciate that from each and every one of you. You need to keep in mind that there are many here on these forums with "inside" info and you will often see the info before it is released to the dealers. There have been a few IDL broadcasts and some general info released with much more sales training to come on the Camaro.

If you run across a green pea that doesn't know as much as you think he should about a particular vehicle then you have the opportunity to educate them. Maybe you can share a laugh together a few years down the line about how you helped start his career.
